Brendan A Sega Genesis
The Sega Mega Drive or Sega Genesis was released in Japan in 1988 and
in America in 1989. This was a fourth generation console for Sega. The
console was an 18 bit console double the SNES from Nintendo. Over 20
million copies of the system where sold world wide. The Sega Master
System later replaced the Genesis.
Sega Genesis released the Sega CD (an add on to play games put on CDs),
It was released in 1991 in Japan, and 1992 in the US. Only 6 million
copies on the Sega CD were sold. Sega later released an add on making
the system a 32 bit system. The add on was first released for $159,
later to $99, and then came down to $19.95. Only 200,000 units sold
of the add on.
